Housekeeping

Hello there! Thanks for stopping by this relatively dead corner of the photography universe! Just a quick note to let you know what you’re looking at (yes I know that’s a bad sentence but just stick with me, alright?)

This current form of www.otisandjames.com is actually the original website that started this whole thing off way back in 2005 or something like that (there was one previous version that existed in 2004 for those of you that are really into useless facts.) You might notice that the posts stop in 2015 but we really didn’t formally bow out until just about 2018. It’s not like we gave up on the website or anything, it was just at that time we switched over to a different platform that was no longer built upon WordPress (like this is – and yes I know that this is some serious inside baseball stuff but somebody might find it interesting.)

Eventually I made the decision – for the sake of posterity – to switch the site back to its old WordPress origins (me being a smart guy that also believes in never deleting history kept the old site in mothballs, albeit virtual.) So here you have it. It’s nothing fancy. It’s a basic WordPress installation. All of the old pages about booking weddings and seniors and portrait sessions and contacting us are gone, it’s just all of the old blog posts. There’s a few thousand so feel free to go through them all if you are trapped in quicksand and are waiting to be rescued.

That concludes this moment is housekeeping.

MuchLove!

Peeps. It’s me, Otis here. I know we haven’t talked in a while. I used to write you all the time back in the days of ‘The Blog’ for those of you that remember that far back, and for those of you that don’t remember it was basically me rambling on for way too long when people just wanted to see pictures. But that’s a whole different story.

I’m coming at you now with a long-read and I’ve buried the lede in about paragraph 172 so you’re going to have to hunker down to a time pre-Snapchat where our attention spans were more than fifteen seconds. I have faith in you though. I know you can soldier through this.
